Water Supply

River Water Pump Station - Ohio

Cardinal Resources was brought into the project when the sole source of water for a city in Ohio was threatened by a major pump failure. Our focus on this project was to ensure that the city continued to receive water while addressing deficiencies in the design of the river water pump station. These deficiencies included less flow from the river water pumps than specified in the system design and the inability to control the process equipment from a remote location. Cardinal Resources' solution included a retrofit of the three existing river water pumps, the design and installation of a fourth river water pump to meet design criteria, and replacement of the existing proprietary control system with a PLC-based system to provide full automation from a remote location. This project was completed while providing uninterrupted water supply from the river water pump station.
